『Aventine』は、ベルリンを拠点とするデンマークの才能、アグネス・オベルの2枚目のアルバムで、2010年に高く評価されたデビュー作『Philharmonics』の続編です。『Philharmonics』と同様、この新作もアグネス自身が作詞・作曲・編曲・プロデュースを手がけ、ピアノとボーカルを担当しています。アルバムには、ニルス・フラムとも共演したチェリストのアンネ・ミュラーや、ティンバー・ティンブレのミカ・ポーセンが「The Curse」「Pass Them By」「Fivefold」でヴァイオリンとヴィオラを演奏しています。また、ブジラスのロベルト・コンドロッシが「Pass Them By」でギターを担当しています。デビュー作の音響テンプレートを発展させた『Aventine』は、より深みと暗さ（それでいて優雅で崇高な）を帯びた作品で、シングル曲「The Curse」や「Dorian」「Fuel To Fire」など、心を揺さぶる美しい楽曲が収録されています。コペンハーゲン出身のアグネスは2006年からベルリンに在住し、『Aventine』は2013年1月から5月にかけて彼女のChalk Wood Studiosでレコーディングされました。
